Hearts action
Dec 16. 2000 – Liza, Cole, Darryl, and I put our $100 hearts game kitty towards a donation to the SF Food Bank. After the hard fought cards (and pie, and M&Ms, and bean salad, and bagels…), we retired to Pedro and Scrabble with Burton. Easy money, cheesy “prizes”… Continue reading “Hearts action”
Dana achieves Nirvana
Dec 9. 2000 – …errr… at least he achieves the ripe old age of 31. Bruce, Mike, Matt, JC, Travis, Tim, Lee, Darryl, and I toast the TheOnlyRealBirthdayBoy. Continue reading “Dana achieves Nirvana”

The B-52s and The Go-Gos
Lee and I make a pilgrimmage back to the 1980s, both musically and gastronomically. The B-52s had some pep, but the crowd seemed quizzical. Lee and I were one of 7 gay people in the entire Shoreline Amphitheater. The bartender asked Lee if the Belinda Carlisle was looking “hot”. We ordered a pretzel and said yes. Continue reading “The B-52s and The Go-Gos”
Aaron Plant’s Vacaville pool and pie fest
Relaxing in 103° F(un) heat, with Shane the Grillmaster, Aaron the ultra-deft host, and Aaron’s mom providing 3 pies and 2 cakes. No pics of the late night hot tubbing and skinnydips — but suffice it to say, no one had a problem floating after all that food and beer… Continue reading “Aaron Plant’s Vacaville pool and pie fest”
AIDS Ride 2000
Nick, Ellen, and Glen get up at the crack of dawn for the SF start of the Ride.
Bahamas 2000, Day 9
Morning departures for Darrin and the Brians. Willamette Boys get a group shot. Walks, runs, rollerblading before departure. Airport hugs and we’re back in chill SF.
Bahamas 2000, Day 8
Day excursion to hunt for the elusive Dunkin Donuts. We end up buying a dozen but consuming them all before we get to the car. So we buy another dozen. Dress up for dining “out” tonight at CompassPoint. The 8th straight day where nobody talks about a) their weight b) diet and c) “the roll”. (Not.)
Bahamas 2000, Day 7
Lazy morning. The 174th egg is broken. Matt’s mustard cheddar lasagne continues our lowfat, vegan dining tradition. Cow dung spreading by buffed ones. We play Taboo again, this time with nasty buzzer. A night swim by P, B, Darrin, and BP finds the pool chilly again. Come back for late night Pictionary.
Bahamas 2000, Day 6
More lounging. An afternoon of wine and reading. Monopoly won by Bruce, finally. Darrin makes spaghetti for dinner. Margaritas. We play Taboo after dinner.
Bahamas 2000, Day 5
Big day at the ocean. The 50th trip to City Market. Lee’s dinner of homemade vegetarian “meatloaf.” Or was this the night I pulled together the burrito buffet? Then we all went skinny dipping at night at G-ma’s pool.
Bahamas 2000, Day 4
Pancakes and (quote) “bacon” for breakfast. Reading, lounging. After ordering way too much food at a downtown Indian restaurant, all 8 of us make an illfated attempt to find the waterslide part at Altantis. End up oggling the aquarium instead. Too pooped to play games tonight.
Bahamas 2000, Day 3
The Brian’s arrive and so does Matt. Swimming in the rain. Darrin whips up delicious stirfry. Lee starts baking chocochip cookies. The day ends with a probing… (game of Therapy that is). We decide Dana would have the most trouble at a nudist colony. Continue reading “Bahamas 2000, Day 3”
Bahamas 2000, Day 2
Try out both pools. Snorkeling in the ocean. Pizza Hut. The first of many runs to City Market. Continue reading “Bahamas 2000, Day 2”
Bahamas 2000, Day 1
Get up at 4:30am. Drag ourselves to airport. Get bumped from flight out of Miami. Spend extra 3.5 hours in Miami International, pfaffing about. Darrin makes it to house on his own. “Dannnuuurrrrh…” “Brew-oooooose…”
